Stream.JoinWeb General FAQs
2.
What is Stream.JoinWeb?
Stream.JoinWeb is a streaming media services company that enables you to:
add your original audio & video to your Web site
stream a Powerpoint presentation
stream live broadcasts across the Internet
webcast corporate meetings
stream Flash animation & multi-media presentations

3.
What is streaming media?
Audio and/or video that plays over the
Internet without downloading to the end user's computer. Think television
and radio for your computer. Streaming is different from downloading in
that playback starts immediately with just a mouse click for the viewer,
and the large file is not saved to the viewer's computer. This provides
a high level of security for original content.

4.
I have audio & video. Now what?
Each audio and/or
video program is converted to a digital file (digitization).
This digital information
is converted to a format designed for streaming - a process called encoding.
Files that begin
as digital videos, for example, can easily be downloaded to your computer
and encoded by you. (See Support for more
info.) Other data (such as non-digital video and audio tapes) might require
additional equipment for digitization. Or, Stream.JoinWeb can digitize and
encode your media for you.

5.
What do you mean by format?
Microsoft's Windows Media Player, Real
Networks' RealPlayer, Apple's QuickTime and MP3 are all software "formats"
designed to play streaming media on your computer. The players can be
downloaded free from the respective Web sites of each company. Each format
offers a free, downloadable version of their encoding software.

6.
How does Stream.JoinWeb fit into this?
Your Web site is hosted on a
Web server (computer). This server computer is a different server than
the video servers required to host streaming media. One company can host
your Web site (JoinWeb.com) while another company (Stream.JoinWeb.com) hosts your streaming
media. To the end user, it all appears to come from the same place - your
Web site.

7.
Does Stream.JoinWeb require long-term contracts?
No. All accounts are
month-to-month and can be canceled at any time, with expiration occurring
at the end of the current period. We pro-rate (daily) back to you any
unused portion of the accounts during an upgrade or downgrade.

8.
Does Stream.JoinWeb offer different structured price packages?
Yes. For more information, see our pricing
